Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3 - 5 years recent experience in acute inpatient or outpatient psychiatry, ideally with patients who have an eating disorder, and their families. Experience in group therapy. Experience dealing with the medical complications that could arise with eating disorders and be able to provide treatment as directed, assess potential difficulties, and respond to medical emergencies. Must have skills in psychiatric, and medical assessment and crisis intervention. Strong team skills, initiative, motivation, and self-starter. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary team members. Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team. This rotation includes three day shifts and two evening shifts per week. Hours are: Monday, Tuesday and Friday 07:30-15-45, Wednesday & Thursday 11:15-19:30.
Preferred Qualifications:Clinical experience working with eating disorder patients and their families. Clinical Experience dealing with the medical complications that could arise with eating disorders and be able to provide treatment as directed, assess potential difficulties, and respond to medical emergencies. Must have skills in psychiatric, and medical assessment and crisis intervention. Experience with various concurrent disorders, such as Anxiety, Depression, OCD. Strong computer skills is an asset.
