Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong organization and assessment skills are required with the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Must also possess strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the capability of adapting to a fast paced outpatient environment. Proven reliability and dependability is required .The RN position requires physical demands including the requirement and ability to work with Pediatric patients of varying ages, and mobility. Pediatric Day Ward experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years pediatric in-patient surgical experience preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred. PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization course) and/or PALS would be an asset. Successfully pass the Stollery Operative Services Medication Administration Exam with a 90% (to be done at interview). EENT surgical experience would be considered an asset.
