Consort is a welcoming rural health centre with 5 Community Support beds, 15 Long Term Care beds, and an active daytime Emergency Department. In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient and family centred care. You will provide clinical leadership, direction, supervision, mentoring to other professionals and unregulated staff, and you will play a key role in the support of an integrated holistic approach to the patient’s health care, health promotion and health maintenance requirements. Your role as Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse includes delegation, supervision, mentoring, and coordination of care within the multidisciplinary team. The RN must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to plan, assess, implement and evaluate client centered care. Consort is a vibrant, rural community, with friendly people and a lower cost of living than major centers. It's a great place to raise a family, with amenities available that include a local Kindergarten to Grade 12 School, Adult Learning Centre, and Public Library. Also known as the Village of Opportunity, the Consort Sportex provides space for hockey, family skating, bowling, curling and the outdoor swimming pool provides swimming lessons in the summer. Gooseberry Provincial Park is only a short 5 minute drive and offers camping, a spray park and 9-hole golf course.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
