Located in the Heart of Alberta, the Town of Stettler is strategically positioned just 179 km southeast of Edmonton and 101 km east of Red Deer. Stettler Hospital features a 26-bed Medical/Surgical Inpatient Unit, which includes one palliative care suite, two LDRP (Labour, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) suites, and two monitored close observation beds. The facility also houses an 8-bed Emergency Department and offers a robust Surgical and Endoscopy Program. Successful candidates joining the healthcare team will be expected to work across Acute Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Obstetrics. Comprehensive training and support are provided through the guidance of our Clinical Resource Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse, ensuring a smooth transition into the multidisciplinary care environment.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three months experience in Rural Acute Care. Registered in or completed Central Zone Obstetrics orientation. Registered in or completed FERN. Current certification in CAM A, CAM B, LEAD II, CTAS, and NRP. Completed / Current Connect Care training in Rural Nurse, Therapy Plan, Day Surgery, Labour and Delivery and Post Partum as applicable to scope. Charge Nurse training course or experience. Current required organizational learning.
