Registered Nurse
Your Opportunity:
As a Registered Nurse with Assisted Living Alberta, you will play a vital role in supporting clients to live safely and independently in their own homes. This position will be primarily based out of the Ambulatory Clinic at Melcor Center in Lethbridge with the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team within the specialty wound clinic and our ambulatory clinic (including AADL assessments, IV medications, and wound care). This role also may include a variety of home care services in a clinical setting. In addition to working in the clinic, there will be opportunity to support nursing teams in the community based on need. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, support clients through changing health needs, and contribute to a coordinated, interdisciplinary model of community health. You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, using sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Home Care Case Management experience within the last 2 years. Knowledge of and skills in applying Home Care Nursing Practice Standards. Knowledge of Continuing Care Health Service Standards. Family assessment skills. Effective oral and written communication. Working independently and as member of a team. Working with people in a health care environment with professionalism and respect. Positive approach and good listening skills in dealing with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Understanding of principles of Palliative Care. Knowledge and Authorization ability for Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program. Ability to perform ABI’s, PPG’s and Coban wrapping. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: Constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift. Physical exertion including bending/walking/sitting or standing for long periods of time. Keyboarding/moussing for documentation for prolonged periods of time. Extensive knowledge on wound care and products used for wounds.
Preferred Qualifications:Wound debridement experience or ability to become competent.
