Your Opportunity:
The Leduc Community Hospital Operating Room is comprised of 3 theatres serving orthopedics, otolaryngology, general surgery, plastics, urology, vascular and neurology. The LCH OR is a busy and fast paced environment due to the nature of the short cases and quick turnaround times. The RN is expected to be able to support all services. The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care during the perioperative patient experience in accordance with hospital policies and standards. It is expected that the incumbent be able to provide leadership in clinical practice through management of patient care, anticipate needs of the patient including ensuring equipment and supplies are available for the required cases. The RN assumes responsibility and acts as a resource for staff skill-development and support. As a leader and role model, the individual must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills when performing scrubbing and circulating duties in the surgical environment. The RN is responsible for the provision of care in accordance with established standards (ORNAC). The RN also provides care in Recovery following NAPANc standards. It is expected that the RN be able to contribute to quality initiatives and always promote a professional work environment.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Perioperative Certificate from an approved School of Nursing. Minimum of 2 current years in the general operating room. Experience in PACU. Experience in a team leader role. Experience in a charge nurse/leadership role. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. The incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 25lbs and have the physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time (more than 30 minutes).To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered please attach a resume and cover letter with your application.
Preferred Qualifications:Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Perioperative Nursing an asset.
