Registered Nurse
Your Opportunity:
As a key member of our interprofessional team on Unit 4C, you will lead integrated, intensive rehabilitation for medically complex older adults. You will design and execute nursing care plans focused on clinical excellence and maximizing patient functional independence. This Evening Charge Nurse role requires a leader with a proven track record of managing teams and navigating high-pressure situations with enhanced problem-solving skills. You will act as a vital support system for frontline staff, assisting with daily operations and providing direct clinical care when needed. The successful candidate will be an expert communicator, be able to team lead within a fast-paced dynamic environment and have the physical capacity for demanding work including continuous movement and lifting/transferring up to 50 lbs.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:2-4 years recent frontline experience in acute car/medicine/surgery/rehabilitation/sub-acute unit. Experience in team lead, AHN or Charge Nurse roles within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Physically able to push/pull, transfer/turn and position patients, stand for long periods of time, must be able to complete repetitive fine and gross motor tasks, must have CVAD/PVAD/IV skills.
