Join our dynamic Labour & Delivery team at the Rockyview General Hospital, where we provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care across the perinatal continuum. Our unit includes 7 Triage beds, 5 Antepartum beds, 10 Labour beds, 2 Operating Rooms, and 2 Recovery Room beds. As an L&D Registered Nurse, you will use your critical thinking, assessment skills, and compassionate communication to support pregnant, labouring, postpartum, newborn, and perinatal loss patients. You will deliver safe, evidence‑based care within an interdisciplinary team. Our team values patient and family education, advocacy, and culturally sensitive practice. There is also the opportunity to progress toward participating in obstetrical surgical care and recovery. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Recent Labour and Delivery experience in an urban L & D setting (minimum 6 months within the last year) required. Current Fetal Health Surveillance education within the last 3 years required. Current NRP required. Demonstrated motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated effective time management, communication, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated strong organizational and patient‑teaching skills. Demonstrated skill in the principles of patient‑ and family‑centered care. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment, including but not limited to stretchers and hospital beds with patients. Ability to participate in patient positioning and transfers. Preferred Qualifications:Charge Nurse experience. Operating Room experience. L&D Triage/OTAS experience. Antepartum experience. Demonstrated professional development and/or participation in quality improvement initiatives. Consideration will be given to new graduates who have completed their senior practicum on a Labour and Delivery unit.
