Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Home Care team in Vermilion, Alberta. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality nursing care to clients in their homes, supporting independence, dignity, and quality of life within the community. You will work independently while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary health care team. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Deliver client-centered nursing care in home and community settings. Perform comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evaluations. Administer medications, wound care, IV therapy, and other nursing interventions as required. Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, clients, and families. Educate clients and caregivers on disease management, treatments, and wellness. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with professional standards. Adhere to all infection prevention, safety, and privacy policies.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Comfort with driving in all road and light conditions on both highways and rural roads for travel within the service area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care experience. Home care experience greater than 1 year an asset (New Grads welcome to apply). Knowledge of CCHSS. InterRAI Home Care Experience. Lower Leg Compression Education. Palliative Care Experience.
