Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Emergency experience and/or Obstetrical experience greater than 9 months. Previous medical inpatient experience. Effective communication skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated strength in working collaboratively with diverse cultural populations and marginalized populations with socio-economic diversities. The Nurse requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and sustaining posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent rural Acute Care and/or Rural ED experience. Current ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, CTAS, More OB, FHS, NRP, ACoRN certification. Current Non-Violence Crisis Intervention (NVCI). Completion of FERN and/or BORN. Completion of ACCN and/or Perinatal Post-Degree Certificate. Skilled in Cardiac Monitor Interpretation. Skilled in use of ED Nursing Implementation Protocols. Previous ED or L&D Charge Nurse experience. Previous Preceptor experience.
