Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Five (5) years of current medical/surgical experience in an inpatient setting or experience in another hospital based Home Enteral Nutrition Program or similar. Must demonstrate excellent assessment, organization and patient care skills when interacting with patient/families and members of the health care team. Must be self-motivated and be able to work both independently as well as within a team. Must be flexible, able to prioritize and organize workload and adjust to rapidly changing needs of the department. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, stressful environment. Must be able to deal effectively with conflict and complex, sensitive patient and family situations. Experience in the following computer-related programs is required: Connect Care, Alberta Netcare, Outlook Express, and Microsoft Office. May be required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. It is required that Applicants be able to push/pull/transfer and assist patients in a wheelchair with weights in excess of 350 pounds (150 kg).
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Home Care experience. Case Management experience. Complex wound care experience. Familiarity with community support/resources. Knowledge of enteral feeding tubes and enteral feeding supplies.
