In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Must have Accredited Post-Basic Peri-operative certification. Must work days, evenings, weekends, on-call and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called back to work. Preference will be given to candidates in the following order - candidates with recent relevant OR experience followed by candidates who have completed an accredited post-basic peri-operative course followed by candidates enrolled in an accredited post-basic peri-operative course. Demonstrated knowledge of commonly encountered disease entities, associated nursing diagnoses/problem statement, effects of medical and surgical interventions, and concomitant nursing interventions required. Experience with application of professional knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills, and clinical judgment in the delivery of professional nursing. Adherence to nursing policy, practice standards and Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change. Ability to identify own strengths and weaknesses and showing initiative for improvement. Ability to handle heavy or awkward items (lifting, transferring, carrying), and withstand considerable walking or standing. Ability to be physically confined to an area due to job demands.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing. CPN©. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
