Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years of experience in community mental health, particularly in an autonomous role. Strong assessment, coordination, and communication skills. In-depth understanding and knowledge of mental health conditions, comorbidities, and recovery-oriented approaches.
Preferred Qualifications:Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with various external partners. Autonomy: Proven capability to manage responsibilities independently, making informed decisions to support client care. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change and handle a dynamic work environment, ensuring flexibility in response to evolving client needs and program requirements.
