Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of experience in Hematology/Oncology experience in the past 5 years. A minimum of one year of experience caring for patients post Allo Transplant in the past 2 years. Attention to detail. Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching above shoulder, and able to lift a minimum of 12kg. Must be able to assist with safe patient transfers and other duties related to patient care. Experience in the development and review of procedures, and process improvement. Proficient written and verbal communication skills for safe patient/family care and interdisciplinary collaboration with both internal and external partners. Competency and confidence using Connect Care, specifically Beacon. Experience in the development and delivery of patient and family education for cellular therapies. O-PREP Foundations or other formal hematology/oncology training completed. Strong assessment skills in recognizing the post Allogeneic Transplant complications.
Preferred Qualifications:Patient coordination experience. Experience in standard of care and clinical trials. Strong analytic and organizational skills. Experience with Peripheral Venous Access Devices and Central Venous Access Devices. Demonstrates a professional attitude and ability to foster strong networks. Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in professional growth. Specialization certification – CONc, deSouza, etc.
