Your Opportunity:
The Northern Addictions Centre offers a range of addiction services including Detox, and an intensive Residential Treatment Program for substance abuse and gambling for adults. Under the direction of the Manager of the Northern Addictions Centre, and the Assistant Head Nurse, the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the Northern Addictions Centre (NAC). This includes initial assessment of clients upon admission as well as ongoing assessment and support of clients, including management and de-escalation of behaviors through the withdrawal process and during the client’s residential treatment stay. The incumbent will work on a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing direction to Client Care Assistants and overseeing the care they deliver. NOTE: Only selected candidates will be contacted for interviews.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Two (2) years Addiction and Mental Health experience. Will consider relevant history and experience.
