Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must possess strong critical thinking, assessment, communication (oral and written), organizational, problem solving and counseling skills. Must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and independently with minimal supervision. Able to perform physical duties including moving clinical supplies to community clinics and home visits (this may involve moving up to 50 lbs at times), service delivery (may require awkward and repetitive movements), sitting, standing and/or bending for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in public health performing duties supporting Communicable Disease Control, immunization, Healthy Beginnings. Recent nursing experience including prenatal, labour & delivery, postpartum or working with young families or the pediatric population. preferred. Maternal/newborn certifications such as breastfeeding courses and childbirth education. Public Health specific training: Public Health Nurse with Inventory, Sexual Reproductive Health Nurse, Amb Advanced Schegistrar.
