Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of related experience, in either a central referral intake program, or 5 years of acute care nursing experience in a surgical procedure setting or surgical unit is required. Must have knowledge of surgical specialties, a basic understanding of referrals, primary care, and specialty care services. Proficiency in computer programs such as MSTeams, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Alberta Netcare, and Connect Care is necessary. Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions, competing demands, and changing workloads. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients. Must possess problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail skills. Experience in conflict management and the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to change while providing innovative solutions. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. With a proven ability to handle high-stress situations and complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with RightFax and Genysis. Experience with change management. Recent experience in a central intake setting. Previous experience with reviewing data and interpreting reporting outcomes.
