Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-2 years acute care surgical nursing experience within the last 4 years required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required. Proficient in Connect Care, Windows Office, Outlook. Demonstrated effective patient teaching experience (both written and verbal). Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills. Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills. Demonstrated high functioning time-management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence. Demonstrated ability to successfully establish relationships with both patients and their families and engage them in their care. Physically able to manage extended periods of walking, standing, sitting, lifting, pushing and pulling.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year Day Surgery experience within the past 3 years. Recent charge nurse experience preferred. Quality improvement project experience. Nursing working group or committee membership.
