Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three (3) years within the past five (5) years of public health experience. Experience with Contact Tracing/Partner Notification. A vehicle and valid driver's license. Strong communication skills and demonstrated knowledge of population health. Experience working with priority populations. Experience with First Nations Inuit Health (FNIH), Indigenous and rural communities, outreach work and harm reduction. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and excellent benefits, AHS currently offers: Northern Allowance (annual maximum of $6,300). This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Retention Payment (annual maximum of $2,500) for Regular Full-time employment. This payment is non-pensionable and is pro-rated for Regular Part-time employment. Additional incentives such as temporary housing (up to 3 months) and relocation assistance, based on eligibility and availability. Opportunities for career development/growth, including an additional five days of paid leave for purposes of professional development for Regular employees employed in excess of one year, and pro-rated days for new hires based on number of months employed in a calendar year.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Minimum two (2) years within the past four (4) years’ experience in an STI Clinic or Sexual Health. Experience in phlebotomy and collection of throat and rectal swabs. Experience documenting in CDOM/Connect Care and other electronic health records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
