Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have three years of community experience and/or three years of acute medical or oncology nursing experience within the past five years. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in an inter-professional team. Ability to prioritize and organize many details in a timely and flexible manner. Ability to work in a self-directed environment, independently, using sound professional judgment. Effective decision making and critical thinking skills are required. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including Word and Outlook. Must be physically able to perform all aspects of the position in accordance with the Hazard Identification Assessment and Control (HIAC) form. This includes the ability to lift 25lbs, walk a minimum of 3km/shift, and able to tolerate bending, lifting, twisting, in accordance with Move Safe training. This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel is required. Orientation to this role is full-time for 6 consecutive weeks for applicants external to Home Care. Applicants must be able to commit to this 6 week requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of Palliative Home Care Experience preferable in the last two to three years. Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Nursing. CNA certification in Hospice Palliative Care. Case Management Certification.
