Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and foster a teamwork environment with members of a multidisciplinary and multicultural health care team. Strong computer skills required. Advanced assessment skills required. Excellent interviewing, counseling, and teaching skills Excellent critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency. Demonstrated ability to develop effective, therapeutic relationships with vulnerable and diverse clients with language barriers. Demonstrated proficiency with iPHIS, Connect Care, Meditech, and Netcare. N95 Fit Test required. Must be able to complete client handling activities (e.g., transfers, weight shift, rolling, mobilizing, CPR), pull/push equipment, and tolerate reaching, standing, walking, sitting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum two years current experience in Public Health or communicable disease control. Demonstrated recent knowledge of Tuberculosis Disease Management (within the last 1 – 2 years). Demonstrated competency in the management of clients with Tuberculosis Disease and Infection. Certification in Case Management.
