Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent (within 1 year) experience in an acute care setting at the full scope of practice. Must pass cardiac sciences core orientation and dysrhythmia certification exam, within 60 days of hire, per unit standard to ensure a safe standard of care. Must possess the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, and bending, reaching and sustained posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 30 lbs. Demonstrated ability to perform and document physical assessments. Demonstrated ability to administer medications within the acute care setting. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, clinical judgment and problem-solving. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to work as a leader and team player.
