Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Strong ability to work in a collaborative team demonstrating adaptability and flexibility from day to day. Proven critical thinking, decision-making and assessment skills. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks which may involve physical exertion not limited to climbing stairs, walking outside, lifting, pulling pushing, stooping and carrying. IV certification is required. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment. Two (2) years within the last five years nursing experience required in a supervisory role as well as in working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sector.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years of Continuing Care or geriatric nursing experience preferred. Connect Care experience is an asset. Charge nurse experience is an asset.
