Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 6 months working as a RN/RPN in emergency/urgent care, forensic psychiatry, mental health, or correctional services. Knowledge and experience working with both diverse and vulnerable populations. Working with a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge and experience with harm reduction-based theories and practices. New graduates may be considered if final focus was in harm reduction, emergency/urgent care, forensic psychiatry, mental health, or correctional services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Addictions and Mental Health experience. Previous experience as Charge Nurse. Previous experience in harm reduction and overdose response. Working with diverse and/or marginalized populations, particularly the unhoused and people who use substances. Knowledge of problems encountered by Indigenous people in using health care services, and of health care systems providing care to Indigenous people. Knowledge of an Indigenous language.
