Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have 2 years current Emergency/Urgent Care experience. Must be CTAS trained or willing to obtain. Must have current Charge Nurse Experience. Understand the principles of the nursing process and able to apply this conceptual knowledge to the clinical situation. Understand the delivery of Primary Health Care and Urgent Care services includes: an understanding of health promotion, community agencies, and resources and disease and injury prevention. Coordinates client care with other health team members, appropriate agencies, and family members. Ensures appropriate, comprehensive care is delivered by maintaining complete and accurate health records. Participates and has an interest/understanding of interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary teams. Participates in precepting/mentoring student placements and new staff members. Demonstrates ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads. Demonstrates strong prioritization and assessment skills. Demonstrates initiative, accountability, decision making, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrates ability to respond to new needs in the role, as they arise, with initiative and self-directedness.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Connect Care or other EMR is an asset. TNCC, ENP, PALS, certification is an asset.
