Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Perioperative Nursing Certification required. Must be able to lift 25lbs and have the physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time (more than 30 minutes). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. Computer skills including experience with electronic charting.
Preferred Qualifications:At least two year’s operating room experience an asset. Experience in PACU. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Perioperative Nursing an asset.
