Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current CRNA registration and BCLS-HCP required. Demonstrated accountability, critical thinking effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to function both independently and collaborative within a team. Ability to cope with change and the emotions of grief. Consistent acute care experience within the past 2 years. Demonstrated abilities in the areas of assessment, organization/prioritization, and critical thinking particularly related to needs of the palliative population in crisis. N95 mask fitting up to date. Ability to manage the job classification of “heavy physical demand” level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary. Annual Required Organizational Learning modules up to date.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in pain management including advanced competencies such as PCA’s; Epidurals an asset. Charge qualification preferred. Participation/ experience in quality improvement work preferred. Palliative experience or Palliative certificate preferred. Previous Connect Care experience an asset.
