Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Standard or Supplementary First Aid. Current suicide intervention training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention. Recent nursing experience supporting individuals impacted by substance use and mental health concerns. Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery focused principles as a complement to strong knowledge of the addictions process required. Physical requirements of the position include the ability to sit/stand and walk through a large Centre as well as use stairs; there is no elevator access. It is also a requirement that the incumbent be physically able to respond to behavioral/clinical emergency situations; which may occur anywhere in the building.
Preferred Qualifications:Trained in use of Connect Care or other electronic EMR. Experience working with vulnerable populations.
