Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years pediatric experience within the last 5 years in an ambulatory setting with knowledge and experience in child development and pediatric chronic disease management. Proven ability to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within a clinical environment. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills (both with pediatric patients and families) and organizational skills required. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job such as extensive sitting and computer fatigue.
Preferred Qualifications:PEARS certification an asset. Recent experience in Non-invasive ventilation and respiratory medicine. Telephone assessment and triage experience in a pediatric clinical setting, and experience with Connect Care, Netcare, and excellent computer skills.
