Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum two years of experience in acute care or mental health. Ability to respond to emergent situations. Ability to climb stairs, carry equipment weighing 20 kg on rare circumstances, and to push/pull heavy doors. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients. The ability to see and hear. Experience with marginalized groups. Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity series from MyLearningLink. Diversity and Inclusion series from MyLearningLink. Must be self-directed and can work independently and using sound professional judgment. Must be able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Must have the ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating priorities. Attention to detail including a cover letter stating why Corrections Healthcare has been chosen.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. ITLS certified.
