Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of five years acute care or rehabilitation nursing experience (within the last 3 years) is required. Successfully completed training and currently completing RAI exams, and using Pathways is required. Strong computer skills with proficiency in using Connect Care, Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-People is required as well as ability to complete computer work for multiple hours at a time. Effective time management, conflict resolution and strong communication skills required. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting and standing with repetitive movements. Must be able to carry 5-15lbs regularly. Must have the physical ability to make frequent visits to nursing units across the site. Must be able to assist with patient mobility as required for assessments. Must be willing to work with any and all caseloads within team which may include the following patient populations adult stroke, adult spinal cord injury and general neurology, adult brain injury, adult orthopedics/msk, specialized geriatrics, geriatric psychiatric and cognitive behavioral geriatrics. A minimum of one year experience as a Transition Coordination is required. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities and processes, and changing assignments, and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to problem solve, demonstrate critical thinking skills, and work well as an individual and in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in home care, supportive living, facility living, or transition services is preferred.
