Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working as an RN in a rural emergency department. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organization, and patient care skills required along with the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating priorities and workloads. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Ability to work shift work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of one year experience as an RN in a rural emergency department is preferred. Completion of the following required certifications: ACLS, TNCC, and CTAS (or willingness to complete these certifications within the first six months of employment).
