Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three years of recent experience providing care to complex malignant hematology patients. Experience coordinating and participating in the delivery of both standard of care and clinical trial systemic treatments. Beacon training in Connect Care. Proficiency in identifying and responding to immune effector Cell-associated Neurotoxicity and cytokine release syndrome. Experience administering blood products and derivatives. Experience with Peripheral Venous Access Devices and Central Venous Access Devices. Proficient written and verbal communication skills supporting safe patient/family care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Exhibit exceptional time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Knowledge of and desire to support Collaborative Care Initiatives. Must possess self-direction and the ability exercise independent decision making, sound nursing judgment and implement strong critical thinking skills. Must be able to assist with safe patient transfers and other duties related to patient care. Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching above shoulder, and able to lift a minimum of 15 kg.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an ambulatory care setting. Palliative certification and/or experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office. Experience with the development and delivery of education to patients and their support team. Ability to develop and maintain patient data points informing program development. Ability to foster collaborative relationships with internal and provincial stakeholders.
