An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse looking to work in all areas of a healthcare centre, keeping a variety of skills up to date. As the Registered Nurse (RN) working at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre, you will utilize the nursing processes, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide care to patients across the lifespan. As this is a rural RN position, you will be required to work in all areas of the healthcare centre, such as: Emergency, Medical/Surgical, Operating Room, Labour and Delivery, along with a potential opportunity to work in the Hemodialysis Unit or Endoscopy. With this Part-time position, you will have opportunity to pick up shifts in the above mentioned areas, giving you the flexibility of a Part-time position but the opportunity to work extra if you’re interested! Whitecourt, a bustling town of approximately 11,000, is situated 180 km northwest of Edmonton and offers big city advantages and amenities but the friendly, down-to-earth lifestyle accustomed to rural Alberta. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Labour & Delivery experience required. Ability to work all shift types required. On-call duty is available.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited academic institution preferred. Additional education courses related to rural nursing preferred. At least one year relevant nursing experience preferred. Rural experience preferred. Emergency experience preferred.
