Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience as a RN in a surgical nursing unit within the last 2 years. Consideration may be given to new grads who have completed a final preceptorship in a surgical unit within the last 6 months. Understanding of CoAct and collaborative care in the acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience as a RN working in: Day Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Oral-Maxillo Facial, ENT, Plastics, Breast hernia, Thyroid, Bariatric, Gyne, Colorectal, Vascular, and Podiatry. Surgical RRT Float Team experience as a RN. Completion of CORE.Experience with complex wound care and negative pressure wounds within the last year. Current IV, Level 1 CVC, epidural, PCA, Narcan and IV Direct certifications.Current N95 Fit Test. Completion of It’s Your Move training. Experience with SCM and Clinibase.
