Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current clinical experience (within the last 12 months) as a Registered Nurse working emergency department at a tertiary level hospital. Minimum 3 years nursing experience in the past 5 years working in the emergency department of a large urban/tertiary level hospital caring for patients with continuous cardiac monitoring, major traumas, acute stroke, cardiac events, injuries, general medical/surgical, and neuro trauma services.
Preferred Qualifications:Emergency nursing training or equivalent. One or more of the following certifications: Advanced Critical Care Nursing certification (ACCN), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification or equivalent experience within the last 3 years. Charge Nurse experience.
