Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits. Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date.
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicants not employed with AHS must provide a Drivers Abstract that is satisfactory to AHS and has no more than 6 demerits. Applicants not employed with AHS must provide a Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector check to AHS Human Resources before commencing employment. Applications may be shared with AHS EMS recruitment teams from communities other than the one listed in this posting. Successful candidates must work collaboratively with patients, their families and members of the patient’s healthcare team, consulting with other healthcare providers when necessary. Successful candidates must lift and move patients and equipment. Successful candidates must work days, nights and evenings with a variety of hours.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred minimum 6 months experience working as a posted designation in EMS frontline operations. Demonstrate current, relevant experience as an AHS employee working in; Metro EMS, dedicated Intra-facility transport, and Suburban/Rural EMS. Candidates must be qualified to perform full operational duties as of the start date.
