Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:The RT will be open to and actively participate in innovative, evidence informed practice and relevant research/evaluation projects and initiatives. The RT also holds the responsibility of ongoing capacity building for new recreational opportunities within their assigned program area. Programming is designed to promote hope, provide supported opportunities to develop self-identity, facilitate the discovery of personal meaning of life, and promote personal responsibility. Other required qualifications include: Active membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association. Community based experience in a wide range of housing settings from independent to permeant supported housing would be an asset. Class IV driver’s license is an asset, as it may be requested. Valid BLS-HCP is required. Enhanced Security Screening required. Experience working with Aboriginal populations and knowledge of Edmonton inner-city resources.
Preferred Qualifications:Mental Health and/or Addictions experience preferred.
