Raspatory Therapist I
Your Opportunity:
This position incorporates work within the outpatient setting along with the acute care setting. The majority of the shifts are within the outpatient setting and focus on the needs of patients primarily for diagnostic testing. There is also an opportunity to attend deliveries, cesarean sections, code blue and rapid response calls, trauma team activations and provide patient assessments throughout the site while working some scheduled evening shifts. Outpatient appointments include asthma and COPD education, Pulmonary Function Testing, Spirometry, Bronchoscopy assistance, 6-minute walk tests, ABGs & walk tests for AADL funding purposes, Holter monitoring, remote pacemaker checks and cardiac stress testing.
Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:NRP.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience within the past 5 years of performing Cardiac Stress Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing & assisting with bronchoscopies. CRE, ACLS, PALS, IV sedation module.
