Your Opportunity:

Clinical Psychology Services (CPS) is a community clinic within the Edmonton Zone, Addiction & Mental Health program. The clinic is located in the Garneau neighborhood of Edmonton’s southside. We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist position to join our team of leading-edge psychologists providing services to individuals experiencing complex mental health or concurrent substance use disorders. This position is blended, providing formal assessment and evidence-based group psychotherapy as a primary treatment using clinical outcome measurement. Individual follow-up for psychotherapy is provided on an as needed basis. The team receives their referrals from internal mental health and addiction providers (e.g., psychiatrists, therapists) from across the continuum of care. Requests for service are received for the purposes of diagnostic clarification and differential diagnosis of DSM-5 Disorders, case conceptualization and treatment planning, known or suspected neurocognitive disorders, social, academic and occupational functioning, personality traits and profiles, as well as intellectual and cognitive functioning. The team is engaged in service planning, evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, training and supervision of doctoral level psychology residents. Clinical Psychology Services adheres to best practice principles including client centered care, collaboration between the care team & client, care that is trauma informed, concurrent disorder capable & recovery oriented. Description:

As a Psychologist II, you will provide advanced clinical services (including psychological assessment, diagnosis and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, and/or provides clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area. This is an advanced level psychology position that will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. You will be expected to lead, facilitate and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). You may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master's level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Experience doing psychodiagnostic, personality and cognitive assessments. Providing individual and group psychotherapy using an evidence-based modality. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity and experience with electronic medical records (e.g., Connect Care) is an asset.
