Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years clinical experience working with anxiety disorders, Experience working in a hospital or outpatient setting (within the last 2 years). Recent experience in psychotherapy/counselling with patients and families. Demonstrated ability to function independently within a patient/family-centred environment. Experience in group facilitation (especially DBT/CBT) and ability to organize and set priorities. Effective self-management skills and demonstrated initiative. Above average communication skills as well as the ability to work closely in a collaborative team both within the Allied Health service as well as within the program teams. Ability to establish positive working relationships with a wide variety of patients and families. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical service within a continually changing health care environment. Training and experience in formal psychological assessment. Ability to sit and stand up to 2hours at a time.
Preferred Qualifications:This is to cover maternity leave of the only clinical Psych II position required for therapy sessions and psychotherapy groups, for both Adult Psychosis clinic and Mood Disorder Program. The current waitlist of 5 months is not sustainable if this clinical position is not filled Thus, impacting patient care.
