Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Five + years of recent experience in a Pediatric Mental Health Service and/or acute Child Psychiatric setting required. Experience and advanced skills in diagnostic assessment, including mental health status examinations, risk assessment and DSM V diagnoses. Experience working with Child and Family Services and other community resources such as schools. Experience in program development and evaluation and research. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team with demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in change management with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and contribute positively to change in emerging services/programs. Experience working in a child-focused and family-centred care program. Experience providing expert clinical consultation to and mentoring of professionals in the mental health field.
Preferred Qualifications:Supervised advanced clinical training and experience in mental health diagnostic assessment and evidence-based therapy, (ADOS and ADIR also preferred). Specialized training in DSM V and experience providing a differential diagnosis. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Completion of Brain Story Certification, Collaborative Problem-Solving Training, Suicide Risk Assessment training. Experience supervising Provisional Psychologists and Psychology Residents preferred.
