Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years’ experience in community mental health providing assessment and treatment with adolescents with a wide variety of mental health, developmental, learning and behavioral issues within the last 5 years. Experience liaising with schools, Children's Services, and other community agencies. Experience administering the following psycho-educational tools such as the WISC and WIAT; personality assessment tools such as the MMPI or MACI. Competency in using the DSM V diagnoses. Theoretical knowledge or experience with Trauma Informed Care and attachment-based perspectives. Experience and skills in crisis assessment, intervention and treatment including but not limited to Suicide Risk assessments across a variety of settings. Must be comfortable assessing potential for client risk and act to ensure safety of client, self and others. Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required. This position may require occasional evening work.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience administering the following assessment tools: CDI, MASC, ADOS, ADIR, or other related assessment tools. Training and experience in group therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based modalities.
