Completion of master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Adult addiction and mental health setting within the past 5 years. Demonstrated experience in individual and group therapy (including CBT, psychoeducational). Strong mental health assessment, crisis management and counselling skills. Familiarity with the DSM system of mental health disorder classification. Evidence of trauma-informed practice within your counselling practice (beyond trauma-specific interventions). Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage the demands of a busy clinic through demonstrated caseload management skills, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to work independently. Familiarity with the Recovery Framework. Willingness to engage in clinical supervision related to group and individual therapy, in keeping with the supervision guidelines set out by AHS Addiction and Mental Health. Clinicians are required to have awareness and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills. - Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation especially related to CTO’s. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, SCM and e-Scheduler an asset - Comprehensive knowledge of relevant community resources and legislation. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; high level of interpersonal skills.
