High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work within Medicine Hat Regional Hospital as an AHS CPO or at our other AHS Community sites. Ability to do security patrols on foot and able to do security patrols by motor vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:Prefer 2 years' experience as a Community Peace officer for Alberta Health Services or other Alberta CPO or Police Organizations. Prefer two years’ post-secondary education in Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice. Prefer two years. security/law enforcement experience. Non-violent Crisis Intervention training and Pressure Point Control Tactic Certificates are also, assets. Experience within a healthcare setting an asset.
