Post-secondary degree in a health care profession, business or related field. 3 - 5 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. 2 - 5 years of progressive experience in project management, including extensive knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies. Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives. Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication. Demonstrated application of systems thinking, and change management. Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication skills; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Experience with MS Office suite, including MS Project and Visio.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Training in project management methodology. Experience with project management, including facilitation/coordination of project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute; ability to move projects forward within these constraints. Breadth of knowledge of healthcare and healthcare issues. Skill and experience in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, negotiation, investigation and concerns resolution. Motivated and adaptable team player with experience coordinating/leading teams. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making and communication, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with complex and varied internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training in knowledge management, process improvement, change management and health services planning is an asset.
