Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant for this position will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business management, human resources, healthcare administration, psychology, sociology, etc.). Has a minimum of five (5) years in a leadership capacity, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Also has a minimum of two (2) years working in psychological health and wellness, with experience identifying and effectively communicating recommendations, risks, and potential outcomes to leadership. This person has an advanced knowledge of the mental health challenges facing public safety personnel (PSP), as well as the research and resources available to support PSP mental well-being. Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered. This individual will hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Operators driver’s licence.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Well defined leadership skills including comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, incorporating inclusive practices, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated achievement in program development and implementation, combined with previous experience implementing effective change management practices. Strong consultation, collaboration and decision-making competencies are required, while supporting a large volume of complex work assignments with competing priorities. Advanced communication and engagement skills and experience effectively using these skills with employees and leaders, both within organizations as well as external stakeholders. Demonstrated understanding of privacy laws, and the ability to consistently demonstrate ethical decision-making and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field (social work, psychology, mental health & wellness, business administration) Training or experience in trauma informed practices. Prosci change management certification and/or project management certification. Experience in leading virtual teams and mixed teams (NUEE and in-scope) as well as facilitating conflict resolution and managing politically sensitive situations.
