Your Opportunity:

Through a proven track record in relationship management, superb communication skills and extensive collaboration, this position will act as a key liaison between the Stollery Children’s Hospital and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, ensuring alignment and integration in the planning, advocacy and the activities for supporting the building of a new Stollery Children’s Hospital. This position establishes and builds highly effective relationships with the senior leadership teams and other key staff at the Foundation and Hospital and fosters an atmosphere of cooperation and understanding. Provides significant input into the Foundation on key matters related to the development of strategies and plans for the new hospital. Accountable to provide expertise on business strategies and activities on a wide variety of initiatives for the broader operations/medical leadership teams of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. This position works with a high degree of independence, develops, conceptualizes, organizes, and manages various projects in collaboration with the Senior Operating Officer’s office and the Executive Director team, with a heavy focus on clinical support and expertise for the new Stollery Children’s Hospital. Responsible for providing direction and organization of activities for specified areas including coordination for various activities with operational teams, collaboration with internal teams and community/external stakeholders. In working closely with the Senior Operating Officer, Executive Directors, Physician Leaders and Senior Consultant of Strategic Initiatives. This position will identify and manage risk and impacts to Site Programs and Services.

Description:

Demonstrates strong leadership in initiating, planning, and executing complex initiatives that support the advancement of the new Stollery Children’s Hospital. Works collaboratively with operational leaders across the site and province to develop proposals, business cases, and implementation plans that align with organizational priorities. Engages key enabling departments – including Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Communications, CPSM, and external partners to ensure initiatives are strategically aligned, operationally feasible, and sustainable. Applies strong strategic and tactical thinking to guide projects from concept through implementation while ensuring clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and alignment with operational realities. Provides senior planning expertise for complex, multi-phase and multi-year initiatives by facilitating stakeholder planning sessions, translating strategic direction into actionable work plans, and supporting the integration of new programs and processes into existing operations. Acts as a key point of coordination across multiple stakeholders, helping identify risks, resolve issues, and manage impacts to programs and services. Demonstrates strong critical thinking, analytical ability and problem-solving skills to support evidence-informed decision making. Builds and maintains strong relationships across the site, Corridor, province and external partners. Provides leadership in navigating complex or sensitive issues, fostering collaboration and facilitating consensus, mediation, and conflict resolution. Recognized for exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship management skills and serves as an articulate and credible representative of the Stollery.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a healthcare profession, healthcare management or business administration. 5-10 years pediatric healthcare experience with 2-5 years in a formal or informal leadership role. Experience within a tertiary (academic) pediatric acute care environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

5–10 years’ healthcare experience in large, complex organizations. Strong knowledge of Stollery services, healthcare operations, and strategy. Proven project management, communication, and analytical skills, including presenting data to donors. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict management. Demonstrates sound judgment, problem solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities and sensitive issues; foundation experience preferred.
