Completion of master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Education, Physiotherapy, or Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable college: Social Worker = Alberta College of Social Workers PT = Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association OT = Alberta College of Occupational Therapists Psychologist= College of Alberta Psychologists Nurse= College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta SLP= Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists & Audiologists(ACSLPA)
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor level considered but Master's degree preferred, with related work experience (pediatric complex care) required: Nursing or Allied Health Professional. Three years relevant experience working in a pediatric acute care setting or in community based pediatrics or primary care, particularly in the care and service of vulnerable populations such as children/youth with special health care needs. Demonstrated ability to development strong partnerships and engage diverse stakeholders in program planning. Applied knowledge and understanding of families and children with complex care needs and ability to facilitate effective service response. Essential leadership, advocacy, communication, and research skills Understanding of the community services and other government systems (Calgary Zone) that support children and families with complex health needs. Demonstrated understanding and application of core philosophy or values consistent with a family-centred approach to care. Demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team. Culturally effective capabilities demonstrating a sensitivity and responsiveness to varying cultural characteristics and beliefs.
Preferred Qualifications:Strong Written and verbal communication skills. Experience with advocacy and community development strategies; experience implementing same. Familiarity with project management - able to define scope, gather data, define targets/goals, identify deliverables, plan trajectory and execute and provide direction for evaluation. Intermediate to advanced technical skills (full Microsoft WORD suite, on line skills, social media and other technology).
