Required Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). 5 years’ experience in a continuing care setting. A combination of education and experience may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to problem solve and critically think through complex client care issues resulting in unique solutions maximizing quality of life and championing person centered care for each client. Demonstrated working knowledge of case management; comprehensive knowledge of resident care and service delivery within a Zone infrastructure with the ability to understand and advocate for the residents. Knowledge of current continuing care clinical practice standards/protocols, policies and procedures is necessary. Ability to work under sustained pressure while managing a high level of involvement in confrontational situations; extremely flexible in managing varying and unpredictable situations. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and well developed interpersonal relationship skills; ability to use discretion, diplomacy and tact will be demonstrated daily while conducting concern investigations. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and to produce timely and fair outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred and/or Masters preparation an asset. Clinical experience within a continuing care or specialty program setting preferred. Experience in quality management, clinical information systems, and accreditation an asset. Previous experience in educational leadership and preparation in the specialty of geriatrics is an asset.
